When this article was made, Indonesian students in the Netherlands have formed 10 student associations called Indonesian Students Association ( Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia or PPI ) which are spread in some cities. PPI Arnhem Nijmegen is the most active PPI in holding various kinds of event and in giving its contribution and participation to PPI Netherlands and Indonesian Embassy in Den Haag, the Netherlands.
PPI Arnhem Nijmegen is a place for the students in Arnhem and Nijmegen to share information and to communicate to each other. It is also a place to improve organizational skills of the students by doing numerous types of organizational activity. Its organizational structure is chosen annually in a general meeting which is also mentioned in basic intern rules of PPI Arnhem Nijmegen, Anggaran Dasar Anggaran Rumah Tangga (AD ART ).
PPI Arnhem Nijmegen has successfully held external events which are well known in Indonesian students’ community in the Netherlands, such as: Indonesian Traditional Olympic Games or ITOG, Indonesian Culture Day or ICD, etc. In addition to that, PPI Arnhem Nijmegen actively holds internal events such as: cooking competition, celebrating religions’ festivities, recreation, and monthly sports training.
The website of PPI Arnhem Nijmegen was made in 2003 to provide actual and reliable news about studying in the Netherlands with the focus of Arnhem and Nijmegen area. Next to that, it also provides information about the life in Arnhem and Nijmegen, transportation system, communication, and preparation for studying in the Netherlands.
